Academics
Bulloch Academy is the only non-parochial independent school in Bulloch County where students may enroll as four-year-old pre-kindergarteners, grow and learn through the elementary and middle grades, and depart as college-prepared seniors.
Bulloch Academy is home to over 770 students in grades pre-kindergarten through 12th grade in two main buildings: the Lower School (grades PK-6) and Upper School (grades 7-12).
It’s the goal of Bulloch Academy, which is fully accredited by the Southern Association of Independent Schools and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SAIS/SACS), to provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment in which students from Bulloch and neighboring counties can realize their potential to the fullest during their academic college preparation, and develop strong leadership skills, social adeptness, and moral values.
Academics are the main focus of the school:
The kindergarten curriculum is dictated by the developmental progress of young children in such areas as language, mathematics, creative expression, and self-help.
In grades one through five, the traditional disciplines of language arts, mathematics, social studies, and science are covered in small classroom settings where each child can receive that all-important individual attention. Class time is also devoted to STEAM (computer technology, art, music, physical education, and Spanish) and STEM.
In the middle grades, academic classes consisting of language arts, social studies, mathematics, and science are taught in 55-minute periods. Computer technology, art, music, physical education, and STEM are also available.
At the high-school level, Bulloch Academy delivers a rigorous curriculum of college-prep and Advanced Placement courses in English, mathematics, science, social studies, and foreign language. Twenty-two Carnegie units are required to graduate with a College Preparatory diploma, while twenty-four units are required to graduate with a College Preparatory with Distinction diploma.
Advanced academic opportunities, coupled with the friendly, small-school environment, make Bulloch Academy a great place for children to learn and grow.
